Poverty Stoplight
How we built a global platform that has already helped over 1 million families out of poverty
The problem
Poverty Stoplight is a program of Fundación Paraguaya de Cooperación y Desarrollo with a concrete mission: create a world without poverty. To achieve it, they needed a platform that allowed surveys anywhere in the world — from offices in London to rural communities in Myanmar — with users on low-end phones and unstable connections.
The solution
As part of the frontend team, I worked in parallel on the web and mobile application. My focus: making the experience smooth regardless of device or connection. I participated in key architecture decisions, including the analysis of migrating from React Native to Flutter — a decision that directly impacted stability and performance at global scale.
The result
The platform today surpasses one million completed surveys in over 20 countries. It's not a vanity metric — each survey is a family that received a personalized diagnosis of their situation and a concrete path to improve it.
